We have learned that the best way to learn more about food and beverages is to attend tasting events because many times we have had the opportunity to talk to ambassadors from the breweries, wineries, distilleries, and restaurants. By talking to the ambassadors we get to learn more about the restaurant or product than we would if we just went into a restaurant or store blind. But most importantly, you may find your new favorite food or beverage!
More and more cities are also having tasting festivals focused around food and either beer or wine. Sometimes you may be able to find cocktail or liquor tasting events. If you aren’t big on dealing with the crowds that attend the festivals, many restaurants also host events so check with your favorite local restaurants to see if they have an events schedule or if they host any wine dinners during the year. Many breweries and wineries also host different events throughout the year. If you have a favorite winery, check their website for more information on their events that occur throughout the year and depend on the season.
If you are interested in checking out any tasting events, check out the lists below. These lists will also include other events that focus on food and beverages that are not specifically tasting events. The lists will be updated as new events become available.
PSA: If you planning on drinking at any of these events, PLEASE plan ahead and use a designated driver or alternative means of transportation (Lyft, Uber, etc.). Also, know your limits. These events will not be as fun or memorable if you have consequences of overindulgence.
